What else happens besides school?

After and During School Clubs

During the year we offer a range of clubs that your child may be able to join. These include football, dance, singing, art, drama, ICT, gardening and cookery. Some run after school and some run during lunchtimes, some run all year and some for just a term. The details are published every term on Fronter and in the newsletter.

The clubs are subsidised by the school, but we do ask for a contribution of 50p per session per child to cover the cost of tutors and resources, and we expect children to be committed to their club, to attend every week and to wear their PE kits.

Others include:

Family Breakfast
We run a family breakfast every morning in the Infant Hall from 8.15 until 8.45, subsidised by the school. This is for you and your child to attend together – it is not a drop off, but it is the cheapest breakfast in town. You are welcome to drop in and try it.

Alpha Zone and Croydon Playcare
Both collect children from Broadmead Primary to go to their after school clubs which are based off site. Again, there is a cost and these are aimed at working parents. Information about these can be collected from the Office.

Holiday Activity
We sometimes host sporting and other holiday activity for the local community here at Broadmead. There is a cost for these but again they are subsidised.

Family Learning
We also host a range of family learning opportunities to help you support your children, one-off sessions and longer courses. These are advertised through the newsletter and through Fronter, our intranet.
