There were some very excited, pyjama-clad children in the playground on Polar Express Day.
Then the drivers arrived. "All aboard the Polar Express! Tickets, please."
We were soon aboard the train. ready for our journey to the North Pole.
There was a discrepancy in one class; more passengers than tickets. The boarding list had to be consulted. The puzzle was soon solved. Each passenger had brought a cuddly friend.
They all had to be introduced before we could set off on the journey.
There were activities for the journey: colouring, puzzles and most importantly a letter to write to Father Christmas. A lot of thinking was needed for that!
As well as an assortment of furry friends there was also a variety
of pyjamas, dressing gowns and slippers.
Then we had a really exciting visitor ~ Father Christmas.
He came to read some of our letters and told us about his elves and reindeer.
We had to describe some of the toys to Father Christmas as he wanted to make sure to deliver the correct items on Christmas night. He said that his reindeer do like to have some carrots as it is a very long night for them.
Then we had some hot chocolate and marshmallows.
In the afternoon we watched the film of The Polar Express.
We had such a lot of fun and were all ready for bed when we got home!
