Swanage School Journey
Year 5

Today we went to visit Corfe Castle. Here we are, standing in the castle ruins, looking for clues about what the castle was used for in its stone work.
It's lucky we were here today to hold up that wall!
At the very top of the ruins
we re-enacted a dramatic episode from history which took place at Corfe Castle.

In the afternoon we set about solving a real crime which took place in the Townsend Centre where we are staying. To help us with the investigation some of us dressed up as the main suspects. To solve the crime we had to carry out a number of experiments. We looked at footprints, fingerprints, blood analysis and even used chromatography to bring the guilty party to justice.

In 36 mile an hour winds we walked down to the stunning Dorset coastline. We visited Durlston Country Park where we found a huge globe.

Here we are linking arms around the world!

In the afternoon, despite the wind and rain, we headed down to the beach for our sandcastle competition.

Here is one of our fantastic sandcastles.

It's been an AMAZING week and this evening we are having a talent competition and of course a Year 5 disco.
We can't wait to tell you all about our week tomorrow.
