Pound Park Nursery School and Early Years Centre is a maintained nursery school run by the London Borough of Greenwich.
Built in 1944, PoundPark was set up to cater for the children whose parents were involved in the war effort
Pound Park continued as a nursery school for the next 60 years and established itself as a model of good practice for the education of children aged three and four years.
In 2004 PoundPark developed a new unit for babies and toddlers under the Neighbourhood Nursery Initiative, which supports parents and carers in Charlton returning to work or studying.
In 2006 PoundPark, in conjunction with Sure Start Charlton, became a Children's Centre and another new building- the family room- was added.
We now run services, in partnership with other core providers, for families and the community in Charlton.
We look forward to another era in the history of PoundPark.
