The government has provided schools with additional funding this year- approximately £9,000 for Gillespie per annum. This is intended to improve the quality of PE education and provision for pupils at the school, to increase the opportunities for competitive sport and to increase participation rates in a range of activities. These activities include swimming, games, dance, gymnastics and other alternative sports or activities which promote good health and encourage exercise. The table above indicates how we have spent this additional funding so far this year. Towards the end of the summer term we will be evaluating the impact of a number of initiatives that have been funded by this allocation and will be sharing this with parents.
