Welcome to Year 2

Mrs Lisa McCarthy

Year 2 made Treasure boxes for RE

We have been thinking about precious objects and memories to
put in our treasure boxes.

Year 2 enjoyed a brilliant trip to Tiptree. We went on a tractor ride

around the grounds and saw all the fruit they grow. We found out lots about how the

strawberries grow. We could pick and taste the strawberries. We also got to pick

sweet cherries and taste them too.

It was great fun.

Year 2 went to the Mini Games Competition at Chelmsford Sports & Athletics Stadium.
Despite the rain they had a great time doing all the activities.

Mini Vinnies helped Mrs Linda Orr from CAFOD deliver an assembly to the whole school.

The theme was 'Give it Up' for lent.

The children talked about what they were giving up. Mrs Orr told us what our

donations to CAFOD could buy families overseas.

Year 2 enjoyed an afternoon at the French Café in Mrs Vernon’s French lesson

In PSHE we have been learning about Mega nutrients and why they are good for us.
We used our senses to explore different herbs.

Year 2 went to church with Fr Stephen. he talked to us about how the Church prepares for Advent

Happy Healthy Heroes

Year 2 have been working with Nutrition Ninja.

Today we made rainbow salads. We found out what different coloured Food contain different vitamins and minerals

to keep us healthy. We made our salads – drew our plates – tasted the food then decided which ones we liked.
