Children are taught to create art work using a range of media and also to appreciate art from various cultures and by a number of artists.

During their time at our school, children will develop their skills in art, gaining experience of using pencils, pastels, paint, charcoal, textiles and modelling material such as clay and modrock. They will use techniques of collage, weaving and applique to create their own pieces of art.  They develop the ability to use a number of computer graphics tools and learn about how these can be used both to create art work from scratch and to manipulate existing images.

Each year group studies an artist/sculptor.  They will learn to appreciate a variety of styles including Pop art, African masks and weaving with textiles.
