Our Curriculum

Curriculum Statement

At Park Road Sale Primary School, we aim to provide an engaging, inclusive, broad and balanced curriculum, which is tailored to all of our pupils and their needs. Our curriculum inspires, enthuses and challenges children so they are able to pursue their own interests and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills which equip them for now and in the future.

At Park Road, our intention is to develop, within our children, the skills of collaboration, independence, creativity, curiosity, responsibility, resilience and respect for the opinions and beliefs of others. Our curriculum extends opportunity, raises aspiration, opens children’s eyes to the world beyond their immediate environment and enables our children to live happy, healthy and productive lives.

Embedded throughout our curriculum are our school values of excellence, passion and enthusiasm, caring and working together which help to guide and support our children during their time at Park Road.

Teachers have high aspirations for all children to achieve, regardless of differences in ability, social background, culture, race, gender or disability and this is reflected in fun, engaging learning experiences and our wider school life.

The school promotes musical, sporting and artistic opportunities together with academic achievement so that all children leave Park Road having found success, confidence and a love of learning.

A breakdown of the subjects we cover together with a brief outline for each subject is available from the menu on the right.  We constantly review our provision, however, and may change some things where we see an opportunity to make our curriculum more relevant and engaging.  Parents have access to more information, together with links to relevant websites via their access to our learning platform.

At Park Road, we ignite curiosity and inspire a love of learning through memorable experiences and exciting challenges, which prepare our children for an ever changing world. We want all of our children to be well-rounded, educated citizens, and so we strive to provide them with opportunities beyond the classroom. As a pupil at Park Road, you will;
